Happy Belated 4th of July!!!

Next up for my late blog was the 4th of July holiday. This is my FAVORITE holiday ever and I think I just love it so much because it is so laid back. Maybe because it's so close to my birthday and when I was young, I got so excited for my birthday. Every year our family goes to the Provo parade early in the morning. Luckily, Nu Skin puts bleachers up in the shade so we don't have to save a spot. I heard there were people at 3 and 5 in the morning saving spots. Yuck.
The funniest thing about the parade was what I noticed someone wearing. My brother-in-law posted something about V-neck shirts. It was hilarious!

The next day, I found this:

This was my favorite float of the day purely because it had anything to do with Pirates of the Caribbean. What that has to do with the 4th of July, I will never know, but it was really cool.

We then went to my friend Anne's friend's BBQ and said hi and bye. I was so lucky that Anne came to stay with me Thursday and Friday night before she started her LONG drive back to Indiana. (Shout out to Anne! Holla!) We went to say goodbye to her close friend Jacob.
We then went to my house for a BBQ and our friend from Vegas that moved up here, Jacob Hiatt, came over. Then on to the Stadium of Fire. This is a family tradition that I don't think we could ever break. I have only missed the Stadium of Fire 3 times in my life since it has begun. We are die hard.

I especially loved this year's events because Blue Man Group AND Miley Cyrus were coming to play. But first, there is always a skydiver or 7 and a good heart warming message about our nation's birthday. Some years I think it gets pretty over the edge cheesy, but this year was really awesome. They sent these huge silk banners down the crowd and talked about each word. It had a great message about our nation. I just can't remember much of it, I was really excited for Miley and the fireworks.

I think I may have dropped a tear right about here.

I actually liked Blue Man Group more than Miley. Do I dare say that? She was good, but she made us wait about 20 minutes in silence until she came on, and the sound was so bad that unless you already knew the words to all of the songs, you couldn't understand a word that was said. But it was still cool to say that I was there.

Can you see her? I think it's time I bought a new camera. Mine really doesn't do very well.

Then, the moment we all were waiting for...the FIREWORKS!!! I love watching fireworks almost as much as I love watching stars. Almost.

The next night, my brothers did "cul-de-sac of fire"! They love lighting things on fire and blowing things up. What better way to show America your patriotism?

So that was my exciting 4th weekend. I still need to catch up, so there will probably be a few more LATE blogs coming up. Maybe they won't come for another week or so though now that I'm thinking about my plans for the week. It's going to get busy!

My dear Alex,

The level of awesomeness in this post cannot be measured by a mere mortal!

A douchebag shirt in the wild? In Utah? Nooooo.

Sadly, I have to admit to having seen them all over Banana Republic this weekend. We were sad. :(
