It's WHAT?!?!?!

Stolen. That's what it is. And what was stolen? My SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!!!
So a couple of weeks ago I got a letter in the mail that said there was a class action suit against some identity theft thing, and I could respond and get some money out of it or something...I didn't think much of it and threw it away. WELL, it turns out, I got another letter today from the U of U that said they had a box full of backup billing records and my social security number has been stolen. No one has stolen anything of mine yet I don't think, but now I am so extremely paranoid! How can I ever know if my identity is safe? EVER? Who knows when they will just decide to pick my number out of the pile.
So I wish I kept that card about the lawsuit, because now I am so paranoid, and now that I know that it actually pertains to me...
So if anyone knows how to figure out how to find class action lawsuits, let me know all about it! I get a free year of monitoring, but what happens after that year and for the rest of my life? I have no clue what precautions I need to take.
