Hot, hugh?
So anyway, back to my little story:
So I think I just had the coolest weekend EVER and wanted to post some pictures. Because they are really cool. It all started Friday after putting in a 10 hour work day...I went over to watch a friend's 90's band play. It was really fun and they rocked and looked like they were having fun. I just love to dance crazy when I am at a concert or watching a band. I'm sure people might have thought I was a little crazy. There actually might have been a bit of crazy in me. I stayed out until about 12:30 and didn't get to bed until 1 am. The hard part about that was that I had to get up at 7 am for a big hike I was doing. The hike was beautiful. I have only been on a couple of small hikes around Salt Lake, so I was really excited to go to Little Cottonwood Canyon. I only had a short time to go on the hike because I wanted to make it to the Warped Tour and then it ended up that my friend and I couldn't find Little Cottonwood Canyon. I really was excited for a high intensity, sweet hike, but with the little time I had, and with us not finding it, it ended up to be a pretty short hike. But it was so amazing. We made it to this really cool drop off in the river, and it totally doesn't look as big in the picture as it did in real life. Here's part of it:
Unfortunately, we had to turn around right after this picture, but now I REALLY want to go back to see what else is there. That was only the beginning of the hike.
Once I got back to my house, I took a quick shower and threw on some clothes for the Warped Tour. I just got a ticket by myself and figured I would just either meet my friends there, or hang out by myself and meet as many new people as I could. It turns out that as I was getting out of my truck, I dropped my phone for the last time. It must have lost some sort of connection because it looked as broken as it had been the day before, but this time, the screen would not work. It was PERFECT timing. Right when I was about to call my friends from Vegas to see if they wanted to meet. I got into the park and found out I missed Anberlin by about 15 minutes!!! I was so upset! There were three bands I wanted to see play: Anberlin, Reel Big Fish, and The All American Rejects. Turns out All American Rejects didn't end up making it to Salt Lake. I must have missed an update that they weren't coming. I got so lucky, because once I walked over to one of the stages, I spotted my friends from Vegas! It was awesome. I went to see The Higher with them. The Higher is a really awesome band by the way, everyone should check them out. They were so much fun to listen to. Here is the lead singer, he looks really young, but also really hot.
And these are my awesome friends, Devyn and Erin, also known as "The Twins"
I don't remember ever sweating as much as I had on Saturday. It was only 91 degrees, but with the crowd all around, and jumping all over the place, it gets pretty damn hot. I then headed over to Reel Big Fish and had the time of my life! I don't think I have ever moshed like I did during that show. I had to go buy a new shirt afterwards because mine was stretched out, torn and completely wet from other peoples sweat. Mmm Mmm.
I saw Story of the Year from the back of the crowd, I was just to exhausted. I only made it at the show until about 4:30 and went home. It was hot, I was sunburned, and oh so tired. I took another shower and changed for the Troll 2 outdoor showing that was up in Nilbog (Goblin spelled backwards, otherwise known as Morgan, Utah).
This has been deemed the "Best Worst Movie Ever Made". I had to check it out. Apparently it was some big thing because the director/writer/actresses/actors/fans came from Italy, Austria, Chicago...It was....interesting. I couldn't really tell if they were really serious about the movie, or if they were just making light of the fact that it really was the best worst movie ever made. I think it lived up to its name. It actually was entertaining. Up until the point when I made it maybe halfway through and fell completely asleep. I tend to do this, but I thought I wouldn't have a problem with staying awake since it was freezing outside, and the movie was so loud... I didn't wake up until the end. I was filled in on what I missed, I guess the only way to keep a Troll from eating you is to eat a "double decker bologna sandwich. Hmm. But with that aside, I was pretty stoked to meet some famous people. Pictured below is the dad, and the boyfriend of the girl that was in Singles Ward. I really don't remember that movie, so I'm not sure if I remember who she was. She started to look familiar after I stared for a while.
Here is the picture of the girl from singles ward with her "dad" and the "Troll Queen"
I didn't get to bed until 2 that night, and Sunday I had to get up early to get the food prepped before I went to church for the BBQ we were having. If I don't get my sleep, I start feeling like I have a hangover. It sucks! I managed to make it awake through most of church, and when I got home Melanie and I finished getting everything ready for the BBQ. We tried to hurry so that we could make it out to our "yard" to lay out for an hour. It was the best thing I ever did for myself. We don't really have a yard at our house, so we use the median in the road for our yard. It's a pretty big grassy area, it's just in the middle of the neighborhood and cars are always driving by on either side. I was so tired and hot, I took my towel inside and crashed on the floor. Melanie woke me up when it was time to start the grill, and I saw the imprint on my towel. I thought it was pretty funny.
The saddest thing about this whole weekend was that I was lighting the charcoal and poured lighter fluid all over the charcoal and I swear I was being careful with the fire and fluid up until the point that I wasn't careful anymore and the fire flashed into my face. It singed my bangs, eyelashes, eyebrows, and some of my hair. I jumped back and looked at Melanie. Her face looked so horrified, that the first thing I said was, "What do I look like?" I felt the fire burn my face, so I was really nervous that it had done some damage. I ran into the bathroom and started crying a little. It wasn't too bad. I had just singed a lot of my hair in the front and spent the next couple of hours off and on trying to cut out all the singed part. It was really sad, but my hair doesn't look like it had been on fire anymore. The part I was most worried about and still a little mad about is my eyelashes. They aren't as long anymore. I really hope they grow back! Besides that little setback, the BBQ was a success. I ended up being dumb and going to play Rock Band until about 12:30 at night. I didn't get much sleep that night either!
Monday was the BEST DAY EVER!!! I was still so exhausted from the weekend and I looked in the mirror at work, it hurt to keep my eyes open the whole day and I had dark circles under the eyes. This, nor anything else in the world, was not going to stop me from rocking my butt of to 311!! It was such an amazing show and I could go on for hours about this, but I won't. I did mosh a little more, but up front, and my sister got some awesome pics while I sang and danced and did a little headbanging here and there. I will for sure be posting those soon.
This has been the craziest weekend ever, but I had so much fun that I had to post it all. Hope it wasn't too boring!

now that you spell it all out like that, i'm thinking i really should have made more of an effort to get you home sooner all three weekend nights.
Sounds like you had a blast.
I love that picture of the towel!
And your eyelashes should be fine. Judging how often mine fall out, it seems they grow really fast otherwise I wouldn't have any by now.
