So I rode my bike up to the local bike store and told the man working that I know nothing about road bikes, but I really want to get into riding. He told me everything I would need to know about them and which are better and about how much I would be spending for the type of bike I wanted. I decided I wanted to spend about $600 on a bike when I got there, but that never ends up happening. I always have a limit, and then I break it. I knew before I set foot in the store that I would definitely go over my budget, but it's completely worth it to spend a little more. Right? Right.
With my height, I can never really fit in a girl bike, so I always end up buying a bike for boys. It's cool. I've totally come to terms with the fact that I will always have to buy mens running shoes and bikes. I took the bike out for a ride, and this bike shop is right next to a few restaurants where everyone is sitting on the patio. I was a little nervous because there wasn't much room for turning the bike onto the sidewalk once I got on and the fact that I have ever been on a road bike was really intimidating to me. Once I got started, for some reason I couldn't get my foot in the straps and I kept falling over trying to get my foot in the straps! I just thought it would be cool to provide some entertainment for everyone eating dinner. But I felt like an idiot. I tend to do dumb things all of the time, so I wasn't embarrassed at all, just felt dumb. I just had to laugh, but the man working was so nice and helped me feel not so dumb. Once I got going on the bike, I got the hang of it and loved it! I didn't realize it would feel so different from my mountain bike. I found the one I want for $750. The one I REALLY want is $1055, but I need to exercise some self control right now. So here is a picture of the bike...Well mine will have clips and I might modify it a little. Can't wait to take it home!!!
