Finally some good old fashioned weather

So today was the most beautiful day EVER!!!  I was planning on doing so many other things than, well, nothing, but that's what I did.  I decided to enjoy today to its fullest.   I got up EARLY and went swimming with my friend.  We are training for a triathlon, and the pool had only one more lane open outside.  It was the perfect day to go swimming outside.  The sun was so perfect.
I ran home, showered, and rode my bike to the neighborhood cycle shop to get it tuned up.  I am really excited for this specific item of the day because I have big plans for my bike this summer.
I ran from the cycle shop over to the Trax station to ride it down to the Living Traditions Festival.
I'm going to go off on a tangent for a second.  This festival is the first one of the season that I have been aware of.  I have heard that Salt Lake has many festivals and a farmers market that I just can't wait to go to.  I am really excited to live in Salt Lake for this purpose.
So my friend met me at the festival and we watched the Salt Lake Scots play the drums and bagpipes.

In the middle of one of the songs, the guy was saying that if you are interested in learning how to play the bagpipes, come see one of us after the show, and we will give you some information. I have loved listening to bagpipes and for some reason been extremely obsessed with them.  I take pictures of them every time I see them.  Just because I think they are so cool.  At a Notre Dame game, I watched a group of them walk around the tailgating party, and circle together to play some great songs.  I loved it.  And I have wanted to play the bagpipes since, but never really seriously thought about it or figured out how you even start out with learning how to play the bagpipes.  So afterwards, I talked to one of them, and I am now committed to learning how to play the bagpipes.  Yes, that's right.  Me and the bagpipes.  You all can play your guitar hero.  I've got the bagpipes.
So we walked around afterwards, and looked at all the crafts, had italian soda, thai food, and a snow cone.  I didn't eat so much of the food, but ate all of the ice from the italian soda.  It's been a while since I have eaten ice and froze my tongue.  I love that.  It makes me feel so retarded not being able to talk, but the fact that the weather was so warm that it caused me to eat all of the ice and freeze my tongue is so awesome to me.  As if that wasn't enough, I had a snow cone as I was leaving to freeze it even more.  I had to have something cold to walk home with.  Well, walk to Trax and walk 2 blocks back to my house.
I tried to work on my to-do list for a couple of hours and went then went outside on our stairs to paint my toenails.  I know, not the best job ever, but the sun was in my eyes.  Oh ,and yes, one foot is bigger than the other.  I know it.  It's been swollen for years and if anyone can tell me why and what I can do...I'll give them all the money in my pocket.  Because for some reason, I can't find one foot doctor that can solve the mysterious problem I have.  Maybe Dr. House.
Then I took a few pictures with Melanie...
And decided sitting on the porch listening to my music was so much better than finishing my laundry or cleaning my room.  We have huge trees in front of my house and they were so cool laying down and looking at the green leaves with the blue sky.  Probably my favorite thing to do is to look at the sky through trees, laying on the grass.  Or in my case, concrete since there is no grass yet on the yard.
So basically, I took the whole day and did nothing I originally planned on doing, so in my eyes, it was a pretty awesome day.

How awesome is it to see my sis-in-law dropping trou for the world to see?

Awesome enough that I want to link to it from my blog, but since your mom is a reader, I think I'll refrain.

haha!
